Remote Learning Statement
The school aims to support the learning of all our pupils and students if they have to self-isolate
- either due to a member of their household testing positive
- or due to a confirmed positive test in school, where the pupil’s family have been informed that they are a close contact of that person.
- or when national regulations include advice that medically vulnerable young people should remain at home
A pupil or student who has symptoms of Covid 19 is unwell. Parents may contact the school to ask for remote learning support if they feel their child has recovered, but has not completed the necessary period of isolation.
The class teacher will make contact with the family to discuss the required level and content of support.
This will take many different forms and be appropriate to the learning needs of the pupil.
For some pupils this will involve identifying activities that the child will enjoy at home, for others some activities may be sent home including suggestions of online activities.
Parents are encouraged to discuss their needs with the class teacher.
We recognise that many of our pupils and students need support in undertaking learning activities and that this may be a challenge in some circumstances. The activities we suggest will build upon the capabilities of families at that time.
